Green Cleaning Products

Why Should You Use Green Cleaning Products?

The green cleaning industry has plenty of products that you can use every day to clean just about anything in your house.

Green cleaning products, sometimes referred to as natural cleaning products don’t take the scorched earth approach of most industrial cleaning fluids by blasting away anything in their path with powerful and harmful chemicals, thus making them eco friendly.

The first reason to switch to green cleaning products is that they’re harmful to the environment.

In this case I mean the environment where you use them, most likely your home.

Volatile components that you pour down the drain or that evaporate into the air can create health problems for you and your loved ones if disposed without a proper chemical management system.

Industrial cleaners packed with chemicals and compounds also harm the environment outside of your home

They can pollute water reserves, harm wildlife, and create hazards to the population in your area.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the cleaning industry employs 2.8 million janitors of which 6% experience job related injury from chemical exposure.

The potential health concerns alone are reason enough to switch to green cleaning products.

What do aloe and green tea have in common?

They can be used together as a green cleaning alternative to industrial window cleaner.

Did you know there are dish washing detergent packs free of phosphates and chlorine?

You can even find surface cleaning solutions that are biodegradable and free of harmful chemicals.

How do Green Cleaning Products Help Your Wallet?

green cleaning productsAside from abstinence from health related problems due to chemical exposure, choosing green alternatives can be a cost effective approach to cleaning your house.

The largest way green cleaning products can help you save money is by eliminating the need for disposing of your cleaning materials at a hazardous waste center.

Properly disposing of toxic cleaners is a pricey proposition in terms of time, money, and effort.

Also, most green cleaning materials are packaged in containers that are recyclable, reusable, and reduce packaging waste as well as transportation energy for garbage collection.

Green Cleaning Products You May Already Have Without Knowing

There’s four powerful, eco friendly organic cleaning products you probably already have in your home but may not be aware of.

  • Baking soda
  • white vinegar
  • hydrogen peroxide
  • lemon juice

All powerful green cleaners you can use to clean your house without using harmful cleaning products.

  • Baking soda is an excellent deodorizer and scouring agent.

  • Finally, lemon juice is a natural anti-bacterial to keep your counters clean after chopping and to eliminate the smell of onions and garlic on your fingers.

All four of these are common items that are superb green cleaning alternatives to the standard industrial strength blasters that are harmful to your health.

Green cleaning products are easy to find and can improve your health while reducing your environmental impact

We use cleaners almost every day for dishes, laundry, windows, and surfaces yet the industry standard materials fail to protect you from potential health concerns while also polluting the environment.

Switching to green cleaning products will help your health, help your wallet and help the environment.

Great article on eco-friendly cleaning alternatives. One of our favorites that we recommend to homeowners is white vinegar. In fact you can get a stronger more industrial type of vinegar at most hardware stores and it is great for cleaning windows, mirrors and even floors!
